Powersuit Primary Weapon Dev by Spex84 Powersuit Primary Weapon Dev by Spex84
I don't mean to spam my DA account with every little iteration I do, but it's been a while since I touched this concept and I want to get it to the point where I can do some more finished work.
This powersuit is still intended to look awkward, heavy, and monolithic, with a somewhat grotesque or strange quality (hence the lance-like weapons and other lumpy aggregates of parts).
I'm leaning toward top middle or anything in the bottom row.
Suggestions and comments are totally welcome, but I might make some purposefully strange design decisions just to make sure the final product looks odd enough ;D

I've been heeeavily inspired by russian military equipment. Like the BAT-M truck/bulldozer. Good god that thing is a monster :D
Glad it's coming through in the sketches!

Dude, KV-series tanks. The ultimate in ridiculous heavy-armor proportions.

it should have a flamethrower. it would fit the dark, industrial, sinister look. also i think that the legs should be digitigrade in construction, like a horses.

Excellent idea, I've been trying to work flamethrowers into a design for ages now...not sure why I didn't do it for this one!
A flamethrower would work well story-wise, too....good for cleaning up the carpets of dangerous alien mold that cover everything on the lowlands.

Thanks for the feedback, folks.
I've decided to go with the bottom middle and bottom right as the two final-ish variations. The other ones have a variety of aspects that just don't feel right, look too stubby, etc. I guess we're on the same page..

...Moobs. Excellent, that's just the kind of oddness I want..._except_ that those holes are meant to look more like eye-holes, rather than being in the chest. This guy's chest, head, and shoulders are all compressed together, kind of like a crab's face I suppose. The "moobs" and eye-holes (or nipples?) were actually inspired by the bulk of a panda's forehead and the sad expression caused by their eye-patch patterns. If too many people read that mass as the chest (and decide that this thing is headless) I might have to change the design. Perhaps it would help to put glowing "eyes" in those holes? I kind of want to avoid putting too many "shoot me" lights on this thing :P, keep it chitinous and dark instead.

Yeah, I'm not sure if I'd put a glow on it - the dark look is really cool/working here. Maybe if you just make the curve of it a little less round?

Hope I didn't come across as rude up there by the way! I'm always a bit worried about that.
