*EDIT* Tweaked the back leg a bit to make it less broken. The lower legs have an overall compound curve to them, which I'm finding difficult to nail down!
Sketchy sketch. I'm hoping to do some more of these. There's a human torso in there somewhere, by the way
Yeah, I think there were two or three separate works like it. (Eww, looking at them, there are more than that that incorporate humans into machines... [link]
These ones aren't what I was referring to, but illustrate the point. [link] [link] [link]
Yep, some of those pieces have been huge influences to me...the Polyp Steed, etc. More in "vibe" than in actual form or content.
I've even thought of re-formatting my website to allow blocks of text description like Thompson's site, as I tend to write pages and pages but my site doesn't have room for that much text. Maybe someday...
I had seen the "Prosthetic Commando" piece before, but I didn't even notice the title, or the fact that it has a human brain in it!
I love the "Sequester" piece--it reminds me a lot of Maschinen Krieger (MAK). I fully plan to borrow the idea of secondary "manipulator" arms attached to the weapon arms. KT isn't the only one to use that idea, though!
I quite like the Sequester's story, with the blasphemous guy who tries to help. Though, I don't really understand the point of attaching the limbs to the outside. They're more prone to damage or wear/tear, but I guess you have a point about the 'manipulator' part.
I love Keith Thompson's stuff, no doubt. The influence creeps in!
