Did u use a photo as a plate for this?While making concepts,what do u prioritize? shape over function? values and colors? or ur more go with the flow?

I did not use a photo plate, but I did use a very rough thumbnail that I'd done in my sketchbook.
Ideally, I think composition is most important, with form and function following.
In practice, though, I tend to use a lot of random shapes to generate ideas and compositions--the problem is that such images tend to look equally random, without much function. A balance is best...
i was wondering if the rooftops arent too dark for that kind of sky or the sky being too bright.
