AAAAAAAH MOTHERLAND by Spex84 AAAAAAAH MOTHERLAND by Spex84
Photo-hacking fun. I wanted to make a big effing hand-cannon.. basically a WW1 or WW2 aircraft piece cut down to sub-machine gun size...the kind of thing that a super-soldier type character might wave around in one hand whilst squishing enemy heads with the other.
As for the actual engineering of the thing...lol. Whatever.

There is a great tradiiton of converting the guns of downed air craft into hand held weapons...

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tony_Ste…

this guy wn a Medal Of honor with just that sort of weapon...of course your's is a bit more radical....I'd be afraid to fire it without some serious hearing protection :D But lord have mercy I'd love to see the expression on the targets face just before they are cut to burger.

If you're thinking of an aircraft's guns being turned into a handheld weapon, it's already been done. Sort of.

I'm sure it has (everything has been done!) but to what, specifically, are you referring? Something from anime, maybe?

Or are you talking about the Spandeau machine gun? As far as I know those were tripod-mounted and someone figured they'd work well on aircraft, too, with some creative linkages to stop the guns from shooting off the plane's own propeller!

Nope. Real life.

Let me explain. There was a WWII Marine during the Pacific Assault who found a crashed plane one time. He found the Browning on it to be intact, so he removed the gun, added a bipod, some rifle sights, an ammo box and the stock of an M1 Garand and created something called the Stinger. A sort of primitive Squad Automatic Weapon.

Haha, thanks, that's awesome. I didn't know about that one! Crazy.

Crazy, but effective. Apparently. While we're on that, someone also stuck a scope onto an anti-tank PTRS-41 and used it to just destroy German bunkers.

Hey I love your work, do you have renders for any of the three shadowed weapons along the top of this one, especially the one on the far right? = )
